First grade program
Our first grade program offers the best of both worlds, the excitement and geshmake of a big camp, with the warmth and personal attention of a smaller program. The 1st grade is led by Rabbi Sholom Berman, who runs a program designed specifically for first graders. With his own dedicated staff and hands-on involvement, he makes sure each child is cared for, involved, and having a great summer.
Seventh Grade C.I.T. Program
Camp Ruach Cleveland is excited to offer our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program for seventh graders for its third year. This is a two-week program that runs during the first two weeks of camp and helps bridge the gap between being a camper and joining the staff.
Each morning begins at 9:30 AM with Rabbi Mordechai Tolchinsky, who gives a daily Shiur during morning Seder, creating a strong foundation of רוח and עליה. After learning, C.I.T.’s take on staff roles such as maintenance or junior counselors, while enjoying the full camp experience and staff perks.
Following the regular camp day, Rabbi Tolchinsky leads exclusive activities and trips, running until approximately 5:30–6:15 PM
C.I.T.’s can earn a stipend for coming on time for learning, similar to our staff Kollel program.
At the end of the program, some boys may be offered the option to stay on as staff.
STAFF program
Each summer, Camp Ruach Cleveland is built around a core group of older bachurim who serve as the backbone of our camp staff. This core group is made up of older high-school and Beis Medrash bachurim. Our broader staff also includes younger staff beginning in 8th grade.
The staff sets the tone of camp through activities, sports, plays, and day-to-day involvement with the campers. They make CRC their place for the summer and bring the ruach and energy that campers look forward to all year.
To keep structure and achrayus, CRC runs a sponsored staff kollel and an optional 45-minute night learning program. We also have occasional night swims and barbecues that help keep the chevra connected throughout the summer.
